Testimonies of Healing

Some years ago I suddenly experienced pain in my side. This happened several times over a period of a few days.

In the mid -1960s my mother found herself in very poor health and her employment in jeopardy, all while she had two young children to support. She had reached the point that the next time a cousin, who was a Christian Scientist, was visiting our home, she told him she wished she had his faith.

AS I WAS PREPARING DINNER one evening, I dropped a pan of boiling water. It went everywhere, including onto my arm.

AN ABSCESS IN MY TOOTH and gum had been painful for almost two weeks. Despite the fact that the difficulty appeared to be just physical, I knew my real need was for a fuller understanding of God's allness and goodness, and of my perfection as His reflection.

WHEN OUR DAUGHTER was born, my husband and I were filled with gratitude, and were blessed every day with new evidence of her perfection as God's child. When she was two weeks old, however, she developed congestion in her right eye.

MY HEART GOES OUT to God in deepest gratitude for the years of protection He has given me. In my 32-year career as a schoolteacher, God has guided me, strengthened me, and given me the words needed at every moment.

ABOUT TWO YEARS AGO my wife and I felt it would be wise for me to get a larger life insurance policy. As we looked into doing this, I was informed that there were several medical tests that had to be taken.

EVER SINCE I BEGAN studying Christian Science, I have had various proofs of how much it helps us. Right at the beginning of my study, I abandoned the smoking habit.

I HAD A WONDERFUL HEALING of lung trouble over thirty years ago. At that point I understood very little about Christian Science.

I'VE STUDIED Christian Science since I was quite young. I remember as a teenager poring over copies of the Christian Science Sentinel my mom received and looking forward to reading every testimony of healing.
