Testimonies of Healing

"I love Thy way of freedom, Lord" is the first line from Hymn 136 in the Christian Science Hymnal. These words came to me as I pondered how I could begin a testimony about a lifetime of healings.

Through the practice of Christian Science, I've experienced numerous healings. Some have come very quickly.

Last year I traveled to another state to fulfill a speaking engagement. I was staying at the home of friends in that area and woke early the morning of the talk to be ready for the day's activities.

One time my brother and I were playing on the bed, and he pushed me off. My arm hit the ground first and it hurt really bad.

When our son was about two years old he came and told me that his eyebrows hurt. I prayed for him right away.

Attending Christian Science Sunday School has definitely been the most important part of my education. I have learned so many helpful truths that I am able to use when I need to correct my thought.

Having been raised in Christian Science, I have for many years been reading from the Bible and Science and Health. But Science and Health has recently become for me an even more indispensable way to unlock the deeper meanings of the Bible.

One Sunday morning as my husband and I were about to leave for church, we suddenly recalled that a very heavy downpour was to occur before our return home. We took a few extra moments to be sure all windows were closed.

While playing basketball with a group of friends one summer, I landed sideways on my ankle after jumping high into the air for a rebound. A loud pop accompanied the landing.

For over sixty-five years, since I was healed of peritonitis following a ruptured appendix (during which three doctors had predicted my death), I have relied entirely on Christian Science for healing. Many times an article in the Christian Science Sentinel or the Journal has helped me to find a needed healing.
