Testimonies of Healing
Daily proofs of the power of God make me so grateful for the teachings of Christian Science. A few years ago while vacationing in Hawaii, I was out with my children in the ocean, on a foam surfboard, when a very large wave developed.
Although I had heard of Christian Science when I was a child living in Connecticut, I had learned little or nothing about it. My real introduction to this teaching came through my wife.
As a lifelong student of Christian Science, I have experienced many proofs of its healing power. My parents relied totally on God in raising me and my sisters, and I attended a Christian Science Sunday School through my senior year in high school.
For years I have read, appreciated, and been uplifted by the testimonies published in the periodicals. It is time for me to share some of the healings I have had through Christian Science.
How grateful I am for Christian Science, and for the growth in a spiritual understanding of God that it has brought me. It was through this understanding that I obtained one of the most important healings I have had since coming into Christian Science.
I had never heard of Christian Science before meeting my husband-to-be. I had been raised in another religion, so Christian Science was like another language to me.
I can recall when I didn't think I would ever really live the life of a Christian Scientist. About five years ago it seemed I was wrapped up in many things that one would consider immoral—including lying, fighting, a general disregard for law, smoking marijuana, and drinking.

How grateful I am that even though my parents weren't Scientists, I was able to attend a Christian Science Sunday School until I was sixteen. Many years later, although I had not stayed with Science in the meantime, the basic truths of God I had learned in the Sunday School led me to ask a Christian Science practitioner for help in healing a seasonal and lifelong ear and throat condition.
