
Testimonies of Healing
I was brought up in Christian Science and attended a Christian Science Sunday School. In my teen years, however, I fell away from its teachings and practice.
Over three years ago my husband and I moved to a small mountain town. We had been living overseas in a metropolitan area, and the time had come to return to the United States.
How grateful I am for the guidance Christian Science has provided me over the years! Through it I've learned to lean consistently on my Father-Mother God through times of trial and testing. I grew up in a very loving but medically oriented environment.
I have had the advantage of studying Christian Science since childhood, and I have relied on it entirely for healing and for meeting my needs. I recall with deep feeling the answering of one need a few years ago.
Christian Science has brought me inspiration, strength, and comfort for more than forty years. It was presented to me by a young man who had been a pupil in a Christian Science Sunday School and who correctly surmised it would answer my questions concerning God and Christ Jesus—questions I had not had answered satisfactorily in the Protestant church of which I was then a member.
"Of the ten lepers whom Jesus healed, but one returned to give God thanks,— that is, to acknowledge the divine Principle which had healed him" ( Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, p. 94 ).
My interest in Science began as a result of my reading the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, at a time when I was working as a registered nurse in a children's hospital.
After more than three decades of studying and striving to live Christian Science, I am in grateful awe of the glimpses of God that have come into my experience. The clarity of the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs.
Within a three-month period, a foster son, my husband, and my sister all passed on. Two days after my husband passed on, our son and only child was married in a ceremony that had been planned for some time.
When I was six years old, my mother was told about Christian Science by a woman she met while we were staying in a seaside guesthouse. Very soon thereafter I was enrolled in a Christian Science Sunday School, and my mother threw her considerable collection of medicines in the dustbin.
