Testimonies of Healing

Christ Jesus said ( Matt. 6:24 ):"No man can serve two masters.

After many years of gaining much from the testimonies of others in our periodicals, I realize I am long overdue in acknowledging some of the blessings the study of Science has brought me and my family. I first learned something of Christian Science when I was twelve years old.

When my mother was a child, her great-aunt was healed of a heart ailment through Christian Science prayer. As a result of this healing, my grandmother and grandfather enrolled their children in a Christian Science Sunday School.

"It works! Mum, it really works!" With these words our younger son, Murray, announced his healing of warts, which had disfigured his hands for some time. We were still very new students of Christian Science but had decided we could work this problem out through prayer.

Mere words cannot express my praise to God for all the benefits I have received from being a student of Christian Science. From truths taught me at home and in a Christian Science Sunday School, I gained sure footing in the spiritual path.

From early boyhood well into adult life I suffered from chronic attacks of asthma. They began before I was a teenager, coming in the middle of the night.

The words from Galatians ( 6:7 ) "Be not deceived" were the Golden Text for the Bible Lesson titled "Matter" one Sunday. While I was studying this lesson during the previous week I decided to focus my attention on understanding how one should think—what one should lean on, realize, and obey—in order not to be deceived.
