Testimonies of Healing

One of my earliest memories is that of sitting at a table in a Sunday School class upstairs in an old house that was our branch Church of Christ, Scientist. Though I didn't always appreciate Sunday School, I never resisted coming.

I am so grateful that Christian Science came into my experience early in life, before marriage and family. There have been many healings over the years.

I am very grateful to God for many healings accomplished through the study and application of Christian Science. These include a sprained wrist, colds, headaches, and a quick healing of measles when I was fifteen.

I am very grateful for having been raised in Christian Science, which early taught me I could trust God to meet all my needs. When I was a freshman in high school, my physical appearance became very important to me.

The first healing I had in Christian Science occurred when I was five years old. I fell off the running board of a pickup truck loaded with green firewood and my legs were run over.

One Sunday, almost twenty years ago, while I was cleaning up after dinner, my foot began to swell and become painful and discolored. I had substituted as Second Reader in our branch church that day and was supposed to serve the following Sunday as well.

Through the study of Christian Science I am learning of God's power—even a slight understanding of which is sufficient to heal. The healings I've experienced have awakened in me a growing appreciation of God's love for man.

It is high time I gave my testimony of gratitude for blessings received through the study of Christian Science. I was brought up in a household where this Science was taught and practiced.

One day I was on the balance beam in gymnastics class doing a forward roll, when all of a sudden I fell off. My hand went between two mats, and I heard a big crack in my wrist.

A verse in our loved King James Bible urges us ( Ps. 66:8 ), "O bless our God, ye people, and make the voice of his praise to be heard.
