Testimonies of Healing

When I was over twenty-eight years old, I heard of Christian Science for the first time. I couldn't read or write, as I had gone to school for only a few months.

At the age of six years I received my first healing in Christian Science. This took place on a passenger train en route to Portland, Oregon, from Houston, Texas, in 1919.

This testimony to the practicality and availability of Christian Science is long overdue, because I have been blessed and helped in every detail of my life ever since I first started to attend a Christian Science Sunday School at the age of three, some forty years ago. Having seen marital unhappiness in my family when a child and in my early teens, I was determined I would never give myself the problem of marriage.

Each year I become more grateful for the understanding of God that the study of Christian Science gives. Thought elevated in gratitude to God brings the peace and joy so needed in daily living.

Some time ago this verse from the Bible appeared in the Lesson-Sermon for that week ( Ps. 40:2 ): "He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.

Two years ago I was suddenly stricken with severe physical disorders. The illness was never medically diagnosed.

Christian Science came into my life forty years ago. I thank divine Love from the depths of my heart for all blessings, and also for trials.

I first heard of Christian Science forty-five years ago. I was in an auto accident that had been witnessed by a Christian Scientist.

Even the most discouraging case can be healed in Christian Science. In 1946 I suffered damage to my spinal cord and was completely paralyzed.
