Testimonies of Healing

Because we have studied Christian Science for fifty-seven years, our blessings would fill a large volume. In the 1920's our first testimony appeared in The Herald of Christian Science (German Edition); the second, in the February, 1935, issue of the Journal.

A college friend introduced me to Christian Science by inviting me to attend a Sunday church service with him. The Lord's Prayer with its spiritual interpretation especially impressed me in this service, which I found so different from the Protestant services with which I was familiar.

I am deeply grateful for all the blessings I have received from the study and application of Christian Science. I was raised as a Christian Scientist, and with the help of a mother and grandmother who were devoted students of the Bible and Mrs.

Since my last testimony appeared in the Christian Science Sentinel in 1949, there have been many opportunities for me and my family to prove the ever-presence of the healing Christ as revealed to us in Christian Science. On one occasion our daughter, then a teen-ager, was healed in a very short time of a broken bone in her ankle with the very prompt, prayerful treatment of a Christian Science practitioner.

"He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions" ( Ps. 107:20 ).

My parents were both students of Christian Science, so I was enrolled in the Christian Science Sunday School from a very early age and attended up to the age of twenty. During those years I had much to be grateful for, but it was only when I had a family of my own that I really put the wonderful truths I had learned to the test.

Over thirty-five years have gone by since my first testimony appeared in The Christian Science Journal. During these intervening years I have had ample opportunity to prove again and again that Christian Science helps us overcome our difficulties regardless of their name or nature.

Twenty-five years ago I was virtually forced into the study and acceptance of Christian Science. At the time, I was filled with despair and an overwhelming fear of death.

"He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways" ( Ps. 91:11 ).

At the beginning of the school year our little girl began to break out in a rash all over her body. A medical nurse who had come to the house to care for a member of the family who is not a Christian Scientist saw our daughter and stated that she had symptoms of chicken pox and should be taken to the doctor as quickly as possible.
