Just prior to my volunteering for naval officer's training during World War II, my gradual acceptance of the great truths of Christian Science began. In those days of disruption and sacrifice (not unlike the conditions facing young men today) I realized my need for a fuller understanding of my Father in heaven, who I felt loved me and wanted me to love Him.
I had been a sufferer for seventeen years, never free from pain. I had had a number of doctors, one after another.
Our family have received so many benefits from the study of Christian Science that space would not allow the full record of these wonderful events. However, one healing in particular was an important waymark in our progress.
Christian Science was introduced to my parents many years ago, and I was enrolled in the Christian Science Sunday School at the age of seven. On reaching the age of twenty I became a member of a branch church and The Mother Church, and have enjoyed the privilege of taking part in all church activities.
It is with sincere gratitude and thanks to God that I write this testimony of healing. For seventeen years Christian Science has met my every need.
In the hope that others will be encouraged by this testimony never to lose their trust in God and the truths of Christian Science, I write these lines. At the beginning of the thirties I began to suffer periods of depression.
