Testimonies of Healing
It is with much joy that I acknowledge the benefits which Christian Science has brought into my experience. I have never ceased to be grateful that, while I was still in my teens, this practical religion was introduced into my family by an acquaintance who recognized our urgent need for help.
"I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works" ( Ps. 145:5 ).
The truths I learned while attending a Christian Science Sunday School have been a sure foundation upon which healings have been based. Throughout my high school and college career, I endeavored to use what I knew of the ever-presence of divine Mind, especially in the preparation for examinations.
Before recording my experiences in Christian Science, I wish to speak of my love for The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, and my gratitude for the privilege of being identified with this unique demonstration of our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, the author of the Christian Science textbook.
The Psalmist sang ( Ps. 107:2 ), "Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy.
"Our gratitude is riches" (Hymn No. 249 ), Christian Science Hymnal, and certainly I am rich in gratitude for Christian Science and for Mrs.
I should like to testify to the wonderful protection and guidance Christian Science affords its students. My husband and I drove over sixteen thousand miles in twenty different European countries, relying on Christian Science to meet our every need.
It is now over twenty years since I first experienced the healing, protecting, and regenerating power of the Christ, Truth, as revealed and taught by Christian Science. I had been receiving treatment from a number of doctors for a period of ten to twelve years.
I wish to express my gratitude for the workable understanding that Christian Science gives of God, good, as the source of all true being and of man as His image and likeness. How glad I am to know that as our dear Leader, Mrs.
One of my more treasured demonstrations of Christian Science over a period of forty years concerns a human relationship. A dear daughter was very sure she loved a certain young man and accepted an engagement ring from him, even though his background and ideals were distinctly contrary to the teaching she had received in a Christian Science Sunday School.
