Testimonies of Healing

When I reached the age of ten I had attended the Sunday Schools of three different denominations in our immediate neighborhood, and then because of certain conditions found in them, my mother told me I need not go to Sunday School any more. In the rearing of four children, my husband and I have witnessed, through the application of Christian Science, healings of stomach disorders, contagious diseases, and broken bones. However, in spite of such positive proofs, I had at times wondered what my reaction would be if I myself were faced with a personal emergency.

Several years ago I was suffering simultaneously from three different forms of physical distress. They were hemorrhages resulting from colonitis, an infected swelling of the legs, and a painful spinal condition.

Because of a desire to learn something about the religion of my fiance, I began to read the Christian Science textbook by Mrs. Eddy.

I am a teacher, and one day as I was joining my children on the playground I inadvertently walked into a low-hanging branch of a tree. The pointed branch penetrated my eye.

A neighbor who was a student of Christian Science came to see me at one time and found me in great need. She left a copy of the Christian Science Sentinel with me and said it would help me if I would read it.
