Testimonies of Healing

I want to express my gratitude for the many blessings which have come to me since Christian Science was presented to me several years ago. I am grateful that I was able to recognize it as the pearl of great price (see Matt.

As a student of Christian Science, I have had many opportunities to demonstrate what I understand of it, and many are the rich rewards which have come to me and to my family from relying radically upon God to meet our every need. Our two children were born at home.

At the time of my introduction to Christian Science, although I was happily married and had a baby son who was then some months old, I was still a lonely person needing a friend at hand. I found it rather hard to mix with people.

I first learned something of Christian Science through a friend at the beginning of the Second World War as we sat and talked one evening in his barrack room about my wife's illness. He then asked me, "Would you like to see her well?" Naturally I said I would.

A neighbor who was a student of Christian Science came to see me at one time and found me in great need. She left a copy of the Christian Science Sentinel with me and said it would help me if I would read it.

Some time ago, when I was desperately in need of help, I turned to the study of Christian Science for a solution to my problem, which was not physical, but what is commonly called psychological. I needed a true sense of values to replace the false, crumbling materialistic concepts of happiness and success which had brought me to a point of complete despair.

I prize most dearly the absolute confidence and conviction I have gained in Christian Science: that all human problems can be solved through an understanding of God. There have been so many of my own problems solved in the past thirty years, healings of disease, pain, lack, fear, inharmony, that although every problem has not yet been solved nor has every question been answered, I know that this can be accomplished and will be, and I am immeasurably grateful.

As a boy in my teens I witnessed much injustice, wickedness, and cruelty during World War I, and I asked myself for what reason the people were suffering from these crimes and for what reason I was experiencing them too. So I started then to think the question over.

I was first healed in Christian Science as an infant when my family was living in the tropics. I had been unable to retain food and was losing weight rapidly; but through the help of a Christian Science practitioner the healing came quickly.

I feel that I cannot be grateful enough to Christian Science for the many blessings it has showered upon my family for four generations. It was many years ago that a dear neighbor introduced Christian Science to my paternal grandmother, who was at that time searching for Truth.
