My understanding of Christian Science was a wonderful protection in a critical period of my life. During my stay in America, some time before the outbreak of World War II, Christian Science was brought to my attention; so I started earnestly to study Mrs.

I wish to express the gratitude I feel for Mrs. Eddy's incorporation into our movement of the Monitor , which I have taken since 1908, and of the other periodicals.

Several years ago it became necessary for my husband and me to learn that man always has all the spiritual good which God, his Father, forever provides him with as His offspring. We were living in a city which I did not want to accept as home.

While living in the Far East, I found myself ill one day with a severe form of influenza that was prevalent in the area at that time. I immediately began praying, and I asked for the assistance of a dear Christian Science friend.

I should like to relate with a joyous heart that Christian Science has helped me so much that I cannot imagine my life without it. I pursued my career as an actress and singer enthusiastically and wholeheartedly.

I experienced a wonderful healing through the ministrations of Christian Science in the winter of 1937. One Friday night when the roads were already covered with ice, heavy snow fell on top of it.

Four months after I was demobilized after the Second World War, I accepted a post in another town, moving there during the hard winter of 1947. Coal and power were stringently rationed, and my rooms were comfortless.

Truly Christian Science is the promised Comforter! I had known the Lord's Prayer as a child, and I looked to the Bible at an early age for comfort because of an inharmonious condition in our home. Several years later I was led to read Science and Health by Mrs.

I had been a pupil in a Christian Science Sunday School since early childhood, having experienced freedom from the so-called children's diseases and having a very happy life. After my marriage, however, I strayed from the teachings of Science and its practice and for about ten years sought my happiness and well-being in people, places, and things.

At the age of ten I was living in bondage to asthma. Then Christian Science literature was given to my mother, who was expecting a child and had been told that she could never give birth to another child and live.
