My father became interested in Christian Science when I was a young girl. I recall the periods of deep depression with which he was troubled and how they affected the family. After he started the study of Science, I do not recall any further attacks. At about this time my mother became interested too. We lived in a small town; and in those days there was ridicule of Christian Science, but there was never any turning back on the part of my parents. I am grateful to my human parents for guiding me into the right path, but I find we have to make our own step-by-step progress toward proving our sonship with our FatherMother God.
A physical healing that has meant much to me occurred over thirty years ago. It was of a form of kidney trouble, and the symptoms were such that I was unable to get my shoes on.
A neighbor who saw the symptoms said that a sister of hers had passed on with that condition, that I should go on a diet, and so on. I was having Christian Science treatment from a practitioner, and there had been no fear up to this time. I assured the neighbor that I was having help, but after she left there was some fear. I got in touch with the practitioner, the fear was handled right away, and there was no more of it.
