Over twenty-five years ago my first testimony was published in the Sentinel. During the intervening years the blessings of Christian Science that have come to me and my family have been many. To write of them all would be a mammoth undertaking. However, in addition to expressing gratitude for healings of impaired hearing and painful neck and shoulder conditions and for the harmonious filling of the need for living quarters during the war years, I wish to give grateful thanks to God for Christ Jesus, our Way-shower, for the Bible, which I am constantly understanding better, for Mrs. Eddy, who discovered and founded Christian Science, and for all the activities of The Mother Church. And I should like to relate a recent healing.
On a late summer afternoon I injured an ankle and an elbow in a fall. That night there was very little pain although I could not turn without difficulty or bear the weight of the bedclothes on my ankle, which was abnormal in shape. There was, however, no discoloration at any time.
I lay quietly and restfully, entertaining spiritual truths which flooded my thought: "He maketh my feet like hinds' feet, and setteth me upon my high places" (Ps. 18: 33); "I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee" (Isa. 41:13); "Be firm in your understanding that the divine Mind governs, and that in Science man reflects God's government" (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 393).
