Testimonies of Healing

Until four years ago I did not really know what Christian Science was or what it taught. Now I can say with joy and appreciation that I am a member of The Mother Church and of a branch church.

I am grateful for what the teaching in Christian Science Sunday Schools does for little children. When my only daughter was four years old, her father passed on suddenly, and it was necessary for me to inform her of this.

I am very grateful for Christian Science and for all that it has done for me and my family. I am grateful to know and to realize with conviction that man's intelligence is from God.

In my childhood my life centered around home, school, and church activities. I was reared in a religious atmosphere as well as one of materia medica.

It is with gratitude that I look back over the past seventeen years to the time my parents became interested in Christian Science and enrolled my brothers and me in the Sunday School. I knew that Science was the only way of Life for me, and slowly and steadily as I learned to apply the truths which I learned in Sunday School I grew out of the self-consciousness that seemed to be a part of my teen-age experience.

Having known nothing but the healing power of God as taught in Christian Science all my life, I have much for which to be grateful! So-called children's diseases, an infected thumb, a sprained ankle, concussion, and car sickness were all taken care of harmoniously without medication of any kind and were healed effectively through the application of Science, and the healings have been permanent. Knowing that man's true employment is to reflect God, I was led to leave home and accept more challenging activity in another state during World War II.

Being a college student, I find opportunities each day to put into practice what I have learned in Christian Science. My religion has guided me in both my academic and my social activities.

Although Nicodemus said to Jesus, "No man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him" ( John 3:2 ), he did not know how to attain spirituality of thought, which possesses the assurance of God's presence. Jesus' words showed the way to attain it for all time and for all men.
