Testimonies of Healing

I shall always be grateful and indebted to a friend who many years ago said to me, "You are ready for Christian Science. " This was the first time I had ever heard these words.

Before becoming interested in Christian Science many years ago, I had been confined to my bed for the greater part of the previous year with a serious hip disease and an organic trouble for which the physicians had said an operation would be necessary. At this time I jokingly remarked to my husband that I believed I would try Christian Science, although I knew nothing about it, and was acquainted with only one person, a neighbor, who was interested in it.

I shall always be grateful for the healings and the reformation of character which I experienced in the early years of my study of Christian Science. My first healing came about through the prayerful work done by a devout student of Christian Science who was called to my bedside at a time when I was delirious with fever during an epidemic of influenza.

I shall never cease to be grateful for the privileges of growing up in a home where Christian Science was practiced and of attending a branch church Sunday School until I was twenty. The knowledge I gained of Truth during those early years has stood me in good stead during the establishment of my own home and family.

Several years ago, while our elder daughter was practicing a dance she was learning at school, she fell, and we heard a loud snap in one of her feet. She was unable to put any weight on the foot and expressed the fear that a bone was broken.

It is a joy to bear witness to the healing efficacy of Christian Science. Jesus said ( John 8:31, 32 ), "If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Christian Science was recommended to me when my fourth child was a few days old. I was suffering from extreme physical weakness and self-pity.

From early childhood I had a deep longing to know God. As a young girl I used to wonder if there was anyone on earth who really understood what was true of Him.

It is with ever-growing gratitude for Christian Science that I submit this testimony. Not a day in recent years has passed without affording evidence of divine protection, guidance, or healing.
