Testimonies of Healing
The last physician who examined me before I took up the study of Christian Science stated that because of a heart injury which I had suffered as a small child, I would always be an invalid. Since then I have served twenty-one years as a schoolteacher under yearly contract without missing a day.
Our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, tells us on page 12 of "The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany," "Faith in divine Love supplies the ever-present help and now, and gives the power to 'act in the living present. '" I am increasingly grateful to be proving the truth of these words in my daily life, to be proving that as one leaves behind him a belief in a mortal selfhood and strives to claim his birthright of perfection, great good comes to him.
It is with a deep sense of gratitude to God for Christian Science that I write this testimony. When my youngest daughter was five years of age, she had mumps.
Since earliest childhood I have enjoyed the blessings of Christian Science. It has been my only physician and Comforter.
A written acknowledgment of my blessings and of my gratitude to God for them is long overdue. Christian Science came to me with healing power when, as a sickly adolescent, all I could look back on was a life of bondage to illness.
Over twenty-five years ago I was suffering from a large internal growth, which had been pronounced incurable. My kind physician at last informed me as gently as he could that medical science could do no more for me and that I had a year or possibly a year and a half in which to live.
" Thy testimonies have I taken as an heritage for ever: for they are the rejoicing of my heart" ( Ps. 119:111 ).
Following my graduation from high school, timidity and a fear of office work prevented my success in any kind of business, although I had an interest in Christian Science. While crossing a street I saw a page of the Bible lying in the gutter.

Through consistent study of Christian Science I have received many blessings over a period of twenty years. Early healings included those of an internal disorder, severe sinus trouble, colds, burns, and the need to wear glasses, which I had worn for many years.
