Testimonies of Healing

To those who are endeavoring to put into practice what they know of Truth and to demonstrate for themselves the teachings of Christian Science, I hope this testimony will be helpful. Since childhood I had been embarrassed by ugly warts.

" How Can a Book Bring Healing?" When I heard these words announced as the title of a broadcast in The Mother Church radio series, "How Christian Science Heals," I knew the time had come for me to share with others how Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy healed me.

During an attack of pneumonia I called a physician who was a personal friend of mine, and who had attended me when I had had a similar attack the year before. He was afraid that he would be unsuccessful in treating the case, and he recommended another physician.

I am profoundly grateful for The Mother Church and for its many branches all over the world. Although I had studied Christian Science for several years, always accepting its validity and realizing that it is the religion which is demonstrating the teachings of the Master, Christ Jesus, until I became a member of The Mother Church and one of its branches I did not progress satisfactorily in my understanding of Truth.

I am prompted to write this testimony out of gratitude to an ever-loving God for Christ Jesus, who showed us the way of Life, and for Mary Baker Eddy, who founded the Christian Science movement. Fifteen years ago I was taken to the hospital in a critical condition.

The testimonies in the Christian Science periodicals have meant much to me, for I have derived comfort and inspiration from the many wonderful healings I have read. I feel that it is time for me to share some of the blessings and beautiful experiences which I have had through the study of Science.

It has been more than nine years since my previous testimony appeared in the Journal . Those years have been full of blessings for my family and me.

What a happy privilege it is to express more fully the gratitude one feels for the Christ, Truth. Through Christian Science my mother was healed of a disease which had been pronounced incurable.

I should like to give thanks for Christian Science and for all the channels by which it is infusing fresh usefulness into human thought and action, uncovering and rectifying errors, resolving individual and collective difficulties. Before knowing of this religion I had a vague feeling that if one were willing to let go of willfulness and sincerely turn to God, help would be received.

Christian Science has brought me out of the bondage of illness into health and harmony. Strange pains in the head and a slight paralysis of the jaw, together with other alarming conditions, were experienced after I had permitted the tempo of my activities to become accelerated out of all reason.
