Testimonies of Healing

I am truly happy and grateful to have a knowledge of Christian Science, which has opened to me the way of Life eternal. For almost six years I have had the great privilege of accepting God as my only and ever-present help; and since I have studied Christian Science I have had great blessings, for which I feel it is my duty to give this testimony.

I am most grateful for the joy and beauty that have been revealed to me through the study of Christian Science, for these are the qualities of thought that first attracted me to it. And I have discovered that it is all a matter of exchanging false concepts for right ideas, and that these ideas are ever present.

Until about ten years ago my concept of God was very vague. A dear relative spoke many times to my mother and to me of Christian Science, indicating to us that its teachings had satisfactorily solved many problems for her by giving her the right concept of God and His creation.

The testimonies in The Christian Science Journal and the Christian Science Sentinel have been such a source of inspiration to me that for a long time I have wanted to contribute my bit. I first became interested in Christian Science over thirty years ago when my mother was healed of a serious ailment after an operation that had left her worse than before.

When a girl of fifteen, I witnessed the healing of a close and dear friend of what was termed chronic neuritis. I later learned that the healing had taken place while the sufferer was reading "Unity of Good" by Mary Baker Eddy.

After many years of reaping the benefits of Christian Science and receiving much encouragement from reading testimonies in the Christian Science literature, I submit this expression of gratitude, hoping that it may in some measure bless those who read it. Having been left in a deplorable condition by repeated sunstroke, and receiving no help from doctors, I spent many years in bondage to fear.

One of the lovely hymns of the Christian Science Hymnal (No. 382) asks a very vital question: "What is thy birthright, man?" At one time I was stricken with double pneumonia.

For some time I have wished to give my testimony to the healing power of Truth. For many years I had searched for the "pearl of great price," but had never been quite satisfied.

This testimony is given with the desire to share with others another proof of the healing truth as taught and demonstrated by Jesus and revealed to us in this age by Mary Baker Eddy in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. " From February to July, 1938, I consulted fourteen medical physicians and two chiropractors about my physical condition.

I am happy to express my sincere gratitude for Christian Science, which has met our every need for the past twelve years. I have been healed of broken arches that were so painful I had to wear bandages all the time.
