Testimonies of Healing

One morning in the spring of 1910, my husband came home and told me of this experience. He said that early in the evening one of the men came into the office and asked if he might use the telephone.

I send this testimony with a heart full of gratitude for the many blessings I have received through Christian Science. For four years, 1894-1898, I suffered from gallstones.

My first healing through Christian Science was of an internal exopthalmics stone goiter, after I had been under the care of skilled physicians and specialists without relief over a period of thirteen years. Physicians agreed that there was nothing that could be done for me, and the outlook was most disheartening and hopeless.

I wish to express sincere gratitude for the multitude of blessings received through the application of Christian Science; gratitude to our Father-Mother God for His loving guidance and protection; to Jesus, our Exemplar; to Mary Baker Eddy for her life consecrated to God, and her untiring toil in giving us the spiritual interpretation of the Bible. To understand God and to see the fulfillment of my dearly loved childhood hymn, "One Shepherd and one fold," grew stronger in me during the first World War, when God appeared to be partial, unloving, unjust, and helpless to adjust the then prevailing unpleasant world conditions.

I never had been awakened to what deep and lasting gratitude really meant until I began to demonstrate the unreality of sickness and sin through the understanding of Christian Science. Many years ago our little two-year-old boy became ill with what doctors diagnosed as pleural pneumonia.

I have had many proofs of the healing power of Christian Science, and I hope this testimony will benefit those who read it. Science came into my life in my girlhood.

I am so grateful for the healing and regenerative power of Christian Science. When it was presented to me I knew nothing of its teachings, but I did desire to be healed, and in my extremity I was ready to depend honestly on Christian Science treatment.

Christian Science is the only religion and physician I have ever known. After physicians had given her but a few weeks to live, my mother was healed of consumption through reading the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.

I truly am grateful for the many blessed things that come to the one studying Christian Science. It has shown me something of the allness of good and the nothingness of matter, or evil, and the false claims they present.
