Testimonies of Healing

I became a student of Christian Science when my husband was healed of a nervous breakdown fifteen years ago. For as long as I can remember I had been a victim of hay fever and had tried all medical remedies, including inoculations and diet, with only temporary relief.

I had just married and come to this country from Australia in 1916 when I first heard about Christian Science. While living in a Southern California city I was attracted by my neighbor's cheerful face, and being in great need of help was directed to a practitioner.

For some time I have felt impelled to express my gratitude for all the good I have received through the study and application of Christian Science. It was through witnessing the beautiful healing of a friend that I was led to this glorious truth.

I wish to express my deep gratitude for all that Christian Science has done for me, with the hope it will bring comfort and help to others. About fifteen years ago, I began the study of Christian Science.

I have profited so much by the Christian Science periodicals that I am happy to give my testimony. Following an attack of scarlet fever, I had a serious relapse and was sick for five years.

For over twenty years I have enjoyed the many privileges which come to a student of Christian Science. Following the reading for the first time of the chapter on Prayer in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, a deep conviction came to me that I had found the truth.

During the years that I have been a student of Christian Science, my blessings have been many, and I am deeply grateful for them. When a young girl I fell down a long flight of stairs and after that I suffered a great deal from internal difficulties.

I am very grateful that I was led to take up the study of Christian Science, and especially grateful for a healing I received about nine years ago. My legs became so inflamed and swollen that I could walk only with difficulty, and experienced severe pain.

Over thirty years ago I wrote of how I turned to Christian Science, and of my first healing. I should like to add now, after these many years, that the healing has been permanent.
