I should like to give the testimony of my first healing in Christian Science.
Twenty-seven years ago I was healed of Addison's disease, which is considered incurable. I had been ill for two years and had been in hospitals in different cities, seeking a cure. I was very antagonistic toward Christian Science, but called a practitioner to our home and asked some questions. By the time the practitioner left I had decided to have Christian Science treatment, and asked for it.
I began to improve very rapidly. I was able to dress myself and studied earnestly each day. After a few weeks of improvement and study, I suddenly plunged into the deepest phase of the illness. I stopped the treatments, and would not let anyone talk to me of Christian Science. Our daughter came to me and said, "Oh, Mother, if you would only read that new book of yours, you would be better." I was losing ground very rapidly. One day my husband said: "Now, it is not that Christian Science could not heal you, but that you have failed to grasp it. I cannot let you lie here and do nothing for you. I shall take you to a specialist."
