WHAT IS OUR POSITION?

From the November 1943 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Position is one of the chief concerns of the human race, and involves one's social, financial, and moral standing. In considering this important subject, the question, "What is our position?" is more important than "Where is our position?"

Christian Science teaches that the position of the real and only man is in divine Mind. Here man exists as the perfect child of his perfect Father-Mother, God; the pure reflection of Life. Truth, and Love; the manifestation of Spirit, Soul. This perfect man is in no doubt of his position. His being, happiness, and power never wane nor vary, for he dwells in the ever-unfolding understanding of limitless good, expresses the strength of infinite intelligence, and enjoys the bliss of loving and of knowing himself beloved.

To bridge over the seeming gap between this truth of being and the mortal appearance, to translate the spiritual fact into the language of human progress, it is necessary to study, ponder, and practice valuable admonitions to be found in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. One such admonition reads as follow? (p. 182): "The act of healing the sick through divine Mind alone, of casting out error with Truth, shows your position as a Christian Scientist." Therefore, intelligently to find and maintain our position as Christian Scientists is to give ourselves a sure basis from which every detail of our lives may be taken care of.
