A Young student of Christian Science had an eager desire to express more orderliness. Association with another student, whose development and training had been along lines of order, system, and accuracy, helped her to achieve her wish. Frequently the student was corrected or rebuked, and a feeling of resentment or rebellion had to be faced and eliminated through her understanding of Christian Science. When her thoughts became more orderly, her activities more systematic, and her statements more accurate, she experienced the peace, joy, and freedom which belong to every earnest student of Christian Science. And—most wonderful discovery of all—she learned that the beauty and order of the universe, including every idea, every manifestation of good, is under the government of divine Principle, God. What a satisfying, practical, simple, and yet profound unfoldment!
Christian Science teaches and brings into being, the loveliness, graciousness, orderliness, and law of Life. It has been told by students of Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, and one may find it in her biographies, that she insisted upon order and system in all the activities of her home, as well as accuracy and logic in her students' statements. Let us read what she says in "Retrospection and Introspection" (p. 87): "Experience has taught me that the rules of Christian Science can be far more thoroughly and readily acquired by regularly settled and systematic workers, than by unsettled and spasmodic efforts. Genuine Christian Scientists are, or should be, the most systematic and law-abiding people on earth, because their religion demands implicit adherence to fixed rules, in the orderly demonstration thereof." The Psalmist sang. "I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart."
How do we bring to bear upon the minutest details of human affairs this law of beauty, harmony, and order? By recognizing that our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, through her discovery of Christian Science, gave to a confused and unhappy world the clear and comprehensive law of God, divine Principle, which meets every human need, and which heals every difficulty. She bases her teachings on the works of Christ Jesus. She demonstrates in Christian Science the eternal verities of existence. Her logical conclusions and scientific unfoldments leaven the ''three measures of meal" — science, theology, and medicine — and reduce them to their proper and demonstrable denomination, namely, the omnipresence, the omnipotence, the omniscience of God, divine Principle, available to and inclusive of His entire creation.
