The compassionate help and inspiration of Christian Science are effecting a marked change in the world's thinking. This divine Truth, when correctly applied to inharmonious human conditions, heals them— a fact which has been proved beyond cavil.
Though fleshly ills appear to material sense as real and unescapable, indeed often incurable and hopeless, the truth stands unchanged that man, God's image, lives and moves and has being in God, as the Scriptures affirm. That man is subject to discord and general inharmony is an impossibility, since there is no mentality to originate or project distress or unhappiness. Spiritual discernment of the omnipotence and omnipresence of God forestalls and annihilates humanity's too complacent belief that evil is a powerful entity, instead of a fraudulent claimant to place and authority. Spiritual recognition that evil is an arrant impostor, because it does not proceed from God, destroys belief in evil. This is the heaven-sent message of Christian Science.
The ever-operative law of God, which knows no inertia, opposition, or interference, ceaselessly and silently directs man's footsteps under all circumstances. It could not be otherwise, since man is the manifestation of God, "the compound idea of infinite Spirit; the spiritual image and likeness of God; the full representation of Mind," as Mary Baker Eddy, the revered Discoverer of Christian Science, declares on page 591 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." The oppression imposed upon mankind through erroneous belief in materiality is broken by the truth, coming ever more gloriously to light, that God's creation is perfect. In that truth lies the simple, practical basis of Christian Science healing.
