Testimonies of Healing

Many blessings have come into our home through Christian Science, and I gladly avail myself of the privilege offered us to express our gratitude through the periodicals. Some of the healings for which we are grateful are of broken bones occasioned while playing football, diabetes, heart trouble, eye discomfort, rupture, running sore of many years' standing, stomach disorder, and spinal complication; also our children's teeth have been straightened.

I want to express my gratitude for the many blessings I have had since taking up the study of Christian Science. Though I have had many difficulties to overcome, I have always had the encouragement and help of loving friends and practitioners in solving these problems, whenever my own understanding seemed insufficient to meet the demand.

Inspired by gratitude for healings experienced and for many demonstrations of the provable knowledge of God and of man's relationship to Him, I submit this testimony. Christian Science is the most wonderful thing that ever came into my life and was presented to me by my wife at a time when I was oppressed by a sense of failure.

In the Bible we find this verse "Many, O Lord my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered. " When I think of giving a testimony of the healing efficacy of Christian Science, I am reminded of this Bible verse.

I was reared in the teachings of Protestantism, but in later years I drifted away from all religion. There remained, however, that desire, which I believe is more or less inherent in all people, to find that which really provides satisfaction and peace.

Nineteen years ago I took up the study of Christian Science, and since that time we have had many proofs of the healing power of God. We have three sons, who have attended a Christian Science Sunday School since they were about four years old.

With my heart full of joy and deep gratitude I wish to testify to the healing and restoring power of Christian Science and to the other blessings which it has bestowed upon me. When I was operated upon in March, 1925, for abdominal cancer, I knew nothing of this wonderful healing and hallowing religion.

For some time I have felt that it is my privilege and joy to write a testimony of the many healings which my family and I have had through Christian Science. Often the good received has been from our own study and careful application of it; at other times we have called upon a practitioner for aid.

I Began the study of Christian Science more than thirty years ago, with the hope of overcoming fear which was depriving me of much happiness, and hindering me in the accomplishment of many things. For some time I had been in possession of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy; but, having looked into it, I had come to the conclusion that it was too difficult for me to understand.

It is with pleasure that I bear witness to my wife's testimony of the healing of tuberculosis and other healings in our home. The healing of acute sciatica was my own case, this being accomplished through absent treatment.
