Testimonies of Healing

Our blessed Master's loving invitation, "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest," we had sincerely tried to accept for many weary, anxious years, but without finding this comfort. When the light of Truth, as taught in the textbook of Christian Science, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, illumined the Master's words, we clearly saw the Christ, Truth, as present and available to meet our every need, with the result that our burdens and worries disappeared, and a calm, sweet sense of peace took their place.

" And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear. " Ten years ago I was a very sick woman, suffering a good deal of pain from an internal trouble and many other discordant conditions.

A friend remarked to me in 1914 that a good religion was what I needed most. After thinking this over I decided to ask God to show me the right religion, no matter what it was.

I wish to express my gratitude for the clear light Christian Science sheds upon the Scriptures. The story of the Shunammite woman came to my aid in an hour of danger.

For some time I have felt that I should share more fully the joy that Christian Science has brought to me. About ten years ago, through reading "Miscellaneous Writings" and our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I was healed of a weariness of mind and body that threatened at times to be more than I could bear.

I feel that words are inadequate to express my gratitude for Christian Science and the wonderful truth it has revealed to the world. During a period of about twenty years my children and I have had so many demonstrations of its healings that space would not permit me to enumerate them all.

When I first took up the study of Christian Science the doctors had given me up as what appeared to be a hopeless case. A specialist said I was suffering from a disease of softening of the bone which could only be accounted for as osteomalacia.

I should like to express my gratitude for a wonderful healing I received some time ago. As I was lighting the gas generator, an explosion occurred.

I have been helped so many times by the testimonies in the periodicals and during the Wednesday evening meetings that I wish to express my gratitude by bearing witness to a healing in my family. Our three-year-old son complained of earache, and even though I tried to know the truth for him, a few days later the side of his head near the ear became very much swollen.

Over twenty-seven years ago I received my first Christian Science treatment, and was healed in a few hours of a severe nervous sick headache. This healing was a great revelation to me, as I had suffered many years from frequent attacks of this malady.
