Testimonies of Healing

Over thirty years ago several pieces of Christian Science literature were left at our home by a stranger who had been given shelter on a stormy night. At the time we were unaware of the angel-visitant which had come to us.

For many years Christian Science has been my only physician in sickness, my refuge in trouble, and my guide in perplexity. It has given me strength in weakness and courage when the way seemed dark.

Many years have passed since first I picked up the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy out of curiosity to see what it might contain. I had always been a great lover of books, and when I saw a certain person carrying a small black book around, I did not rest until I had asked to see the book.

I am deeply thankful that Christian Science, with all its infinitely rich blessings, entered my life. Illness led me to take it up.

I wish to testify to the accuracy of the statements in the above testimony by my wife, and also to express my gratitude for the many blessings I have received through Christian Science. — C.

Our blessed Master's loving invitation, "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest," we had sincerely tried to accept for many weary, anxious years, but without finding this comfort. When the light of Truth, as taught in the textbook of Christian Science, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, illumined the Master's words, we clearly saw the Christ, Truth, as present and available to meet our every need, with the result that our burdens and worries disappeared, and a calm, sweet sense of peace took their place.

" And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear. " Ten years ago I was a very sick woman, suffering a good deal of pain from an internal trouble and many other discordant conditions.

A friend remarked to me in 1914 that a good religion was what I needed most. After thinking this over I decided to ask God to show me the right religion, no matter what it was.

I wish to express my gratitude for the clear light Christian Science sheds upon the Scriptures. The story of the Shunammite woman came to my aid in an hour of danger.

For some time I have felt that I should share more fully the joy that Christian Science has brought to me. About ten years ago, through reading "Miscellaneous Writings" and our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I was healed of a weariness of mind and body that threatened at times to be more than I could bear.
