Testimonies of Healing

Through gaining the right idea of substance, as taught in Christian Science, and holding steadfastly to that fact in spite of all evidence to the contrary, I have made most satisfactory demonstrations of supply. Even in the face of alarming situations the truth declared and clung to has not failed.

Christian Science has been my only physician for more than twenty years. Many blessings have come to me during that time, but I shall relate a healing which occurred a few years ago, and which has proved to be one of the milestones of my life.

I came to Christian Science for physical healing. Thirteen years ago I was very weak and nervous, following an operation for stomach trouble.

About three years ago I pictured myself as a man censured by God. For many months I had been gradually failing in health, and in June, 1928, I was obliged to stop work.

It is with a heart overflowing with gratitude that I write these few lines. I suffered for about twelve years from a difficulty which I was told came from the stomach.

I feel urged to express my gratitude to God for all the blessings my family and I have been privileged to enjoy in the ten years I have been studying Christian Science. Although I had a very religious training, I could not find anything that really satisfied me.

Over twenty years ago, I made investigations to find out what the Christian Science textbook and the Bible used by Christian Scientists were. I found their Bible to be the one I had been using, namely, the King James Version, and that it was held in highest esteem by the Founder and Leader of the Christian Science movement, Mary Baker Eddy, the author of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures.

I have had many healings through Christian Science, and it has brought into my life many blessings. The first healing was that of foot trouble.

I wish to express my gratitude to God for revealing to this age the scientific meaning of His Word; to Christ Jesus for demonstrating the spirit and power of God in overcoming sin, sickness, and death, and for saying that all who believed on him could do the same works and greater; and to Mary Baker Eddy for walking so close to God that she could receive this truth and give it to a world hungering for the right understanding of God and of man's relationship to Him. My first healing was of constipation from which I had suffered four years, during which time there had been no action without material aid; and there was no action for six days previous to my first treatment in Christian Science.

With a heart filled with gratitude and a sincere desire to help others I wish to give the testimony of my first healing through Christian Science. I had never known what it was to be free from sickness.
