Testimonies of Healing

I am grateful for all the blessings I have received through Christian Science, the knowledge of which came to me four or five years ago when I was in the depths of despair, having suffered for two years from a severe nervous breakdown. I had consulted over a dozen medical practitioners, and everything that was humanly possible had been done for me; yet when I was at last led to consult a Christian Science practitioner I was at the worst stage.

In 1907, after witnessing the healing of my sister through Christian Science treatment, I wished to know what Christian Science was. I therefore began to read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy and to study the Bible Lessons in the Christian Science Quarterly, and I received many blessings.

I have received much good since Christian Science came to my rescue. After the passing on of my husband I had a great fear of insanity as the result of worry and grief.

The healing of a tumor on the wrist through the leavening effect of the truth in my consciousness is gratefully acknowledged. When the tumor first manifested itself I tried not to notice it; but mortal mind speculated about its origin, name, and nature, and it became more real to my thought.

Christian Science has come to my aid so many times during the past eight years and means so much to me now that I feel I should like to express publicly my deep appreciation. Eight years ago, at the time of the birth of my daughter, I was taken to the hospital for a Cæsarean operation, which three physicians deemed necessary.

My first glimpse of the healing power of Christian Science came to me when I was healed of constipation, which I had had since childhood. I doctored many years for this condition, taking medicine every day, until it failed even to relieve.

It was about fifteen years ago that I became interested in Christian Science. At that time I was suffering from nervous indigestion which I had had since a child.

I became interested in Christian Science over seventeen years ago. At that time I had been suffering from an obstruction of the intestines.

I wish to express my gratitude for the many blessings that have come to me through the study and application of Christian Science. Some years ago the pastor of an orthodox church in Chicago made the statement in one of the Sunday morning sermons that "God is not a great superhuman being sitting on a throne up in heaven; God is Love, Life.

After I took up the study of Christian Science I felt sure that I had found a truly practical religion. As a child I went to church and Sunday school, but they did not seem to satisfy me.
