Testimonies of Healing

I have been freed from pain and sickness. I shall never forget the first treatment I had in Christian Science, for I was instantly healed of weak eyes and constipation.

I wish to express my gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me. As a child I longed to have lived in Jesus' time, so as to have been near him and to have gone to him for healing.

With a sincere desire to help some earnest seeker for Truth, I should like to tell of some of the innumerable blessings that my family and I have experienced through Christian Science. Nearly seven years ago my father, while standing in the front yard talking with a neighbor, was struck by a stray bullet which came from across the street.

While reading the testimonies in a Christian Science Sentinel I had a deep desire to tell how grateful I am, and how much Christian Science has done for me. As I thought about what healing I would relate, the realization came to me that I had never been seriously ill in my life; and I thanked God for the great protection that Christian Science had been to me.

I want to give this testimony of what Christian Science has done for me, that it may help a weary traveler in the desert of false belief. I have come safely through that which is sometimes called nervous breakdown or insanity.

I am very happy to vouch for my wife's testimony of her healings in Christian Science. I should also like to express my gratitude for the many healings that I have had through the study and application of this Science.

I am desirous of expressing my gratitude for Christian Science through a written testimony. The saying, "Man's extremity is God's opportunity," was proved true in my case.

I should have written this testimony years ago, but it was hard for me to express myself well in the English language, as I was born in Switzerland. It was through a salesman who came to our place of business in 1906 that we first heard of Christian Science.

In the year 1923 my mother-in-law seemed to be suffering from vertigo and wondered if she ought to have her eyeglasses changed. She went to see an optician, who, upon examining her eyes, said he could not change her glasses without a prescription from an oculist, since she had a cataract on one eye.

I wish to tell of my healing in Christian Science, to prove that Christian Science healing is permanent: I was saved from a condition of total blindness thirty-four years ago, after one of the most noted oculists in the world at that time said I would be totally blind for life. My father had spent large sums of money on my eyes, to no avail.
