Testimonies of Healing
Christian Science has been my physician and Comforter through many trying experiences. Some healings, among them that of ptomaine poisoning, strained muscles, rheumatism, injuries from falls, have been instantaneous, others have taken longer; but it is with a grateful heart I can say I have spent only one whole day in bed during the eighteen years that I have been studying this Science of being.
Christian Science has met my every need, in sickness, in sorrow, and in lack. During the past sixteen years I have relied wholly on God to lead me out of the darkness of error into the light of Truth and Love.
Words are inadequate to express my appreciation of Christian Science. When I first heard of it I was suffering from the last stages of goiter.
I am indeed grateful for the abundance of good that has always come to me, and for the love of our Father that has been expressed through guidance, protection, and supply. Christian Science was not studied for physical healing, for good health is one of the many blessings bestowed upon me.
I wish to give thanks for the many benefits received through the understanding I have gained in Christian Science. My first healing was of the need of wearing glasses.
After about ten years' study of the Bible and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I feel it a great privilege to testify in writing to the healing efficacy of Christian Science. I was healed of nervousness of many years' standing, caused, so physicians claimed, by telephone operating; also of bowel trouble, hemorrhoids, influenza, indigestion, and a broken wrist.
It is in grateful appreciation of and love for Christian Science that I bear testimony to its healing and regenerating power. It is over seven years since I took up the study of Christian Science after I had consulted the seventh physician and had been told that I should be obliged to take medical treatments for some time, and that no doubt an operation for appendicitis and stomach and bowel trouble would be necessary.
Nearly thirty-four years ago I was a semi-invalid, suffering from so-called hereditary tuberculosis. The physician said I would live three months or perhaps a year.
It is with a sincere desire to express the great joy that has come into my life through the study and application of the teachings of Christian Science that I give this testimony. When our daughter was small, she passed through a period of about two years of great suffering with adenoids.
It is with a sense of deep gratitude to our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, that I express my thankfulness for the blessings which have been mine for a number of years through the application of Christian Science to many problems, physical, mental, and financial. When I was a young girl, a condition of blurred vision came to me at a time when I was doing very close musical work.
