Testimonies of Healing

My gratitude for Christian Science is unceasing, for without it I should not be here to-day. In 1901 I was a hopeless and helpless invalid.

Although I was brought up in Christian Science and attended the Sunday school from a very early age, I was tempted to drift during my high school days, and it seemed as if my attention was drawn to other things. When an extremely difficult situation arose, however, I was forced to acknowledge that nothing but Christian Science could help me, and I turned to it whole-heartedly.

I am very glad to avail myself of the opportunity which our periodicals give of expressing my gratitude for the many benefits, mental, moral, and physical, which I have received since I began the study of Christian Science over nine years ago. For some years I had suffered from chronic anaemia, sleeplessness, almost constant headache, and various other ills, besides what seemed to me worse than all—wearing anxiety and worry.

About four years ago I left Philadelphia a total wreck mentally and physically. I was ordered by physicians to take a complete rest.

For the past sixteen years I have been so greatly blessed with the abundance of fruitage coming to me regularly through the testimonies in our beloved periodicals that I feel I must contribute one more tithe to the storehouse. For five years I had suffered from kidney disease.

When a child of nine or ten years, I was healed through Christian Science very quickly of pneumonia. The doctors had said there was nothing more that they could do.

I was privileged to experience the deep significance of Jesus' beautiful words, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free," when, through God's wonderful guidance, I was led to Christian Science. For fourteen years I suffered from a serious heart and nervous trouble, coupled with anxiety, tormenting insomnia, weakness, and indigestion.

Shortly after taking up the study of Christian Science, I contracted smallpox. Feeling that my understanding was insufficient to meet the case, I called on a practitioner for help, which was lovingly given.

Each successive day makes me more grateful to God that I know of the truths of Christian Science, to which I may cling throughout my entire life. Especially since maturity I realize more clearly than before what a wondrous blessing it has been to be free from the belief in the power of drugs to heal, and what a joy to be able to turn to our Father-mother God at all times for help.

I wish to express my gratitude for the many demonstrations of healing I have had through Christian Science. It was brought to our notice in 1913 by my brother, who was employed by a Christian Scientist.
