Testimonies of Healing

Christian Science is the greatest blessing that ever came to me. When I first became interested in this religion of Love, I had reached the conclusion that materia medica could do nothing for me.

For five years I experienced very poor health. I was frequently bedridden and suffered from intermittent spasms of acute pain.

When I first came to Christian Science I was practically a hopeless, helpless sufferer. I had not been able to walk for fifteen years and a half, nor had I been able to use my eyes during that time.

For seventeen years I was afflicted with a spinal condition which caused attacks of lameness that were very painful, lasting several days, confining me to bed, and leaving me very weak. I had employed three of the best medical specialists in Chicago, but they offered me nothing in the way of help.

When my son was four years old, he hurt his knee while playing. The injury seemed at first to be a mere bruise, but in a week or two the knee became stiff and swollen.

Christian Science has met my every need for nearly thirteen years, and it is with a heart full of love and gratitude that I offer this testimony. The healings we have had in our home have been many, among them being those of influenza, measles, whooping cough, chicken pox, bladder disorder, and facial paralysis.

Sincerely, and in deep gratitude to God and to our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, I am sending this testimony, hoping it may benefit others. I came into Christian Science seeking a God that would not destroy, and a heaven near at hand, filled with joy to-day.

For some time I have felt that I should add my testimony to the many that are being offered as witness to the efficacy of Christian Science as a healer of sin, disease, and discord of all kinds. I finally awoke to the realization that I was apparently withholding my expression of gratitude until a more complete demonstration over error was made.

May my testimony bring to all who are weary and heavy-laden a glimpse of light, showing that all things are possible with God, if we cling faithfully and steadfastly to Him. Even before I knew of Christian Science, He often led me, after fervent prayer, out of mental and physical distress.

The opportunity of expressing my sincere gratitude to God, our dear heavenly Father, protector, and guide, is indeed a cause for joy. One day, while I was walking through a store, my attention was attracted to a certain display.
