
Testimonies of Healing
I am truly grateful to God and to our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for Christian Science. I am grateful for the understanding our practitioners have of God, so that they may help those who seek the truth.

When Pilate asked Jesus if he were a king, the answer came, "To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. " As I pondered these words it was borne in upon me that I was not doing all I could to follow the example of Jesus by bearing witness to the truth which had been revealed to me through the blessed teachings of Christian Science.
My gratitude to God is boundless for the innumerable blessings, healings, and experiences of protection I have had, and am constantly receiving, through the study and application of Christian Science. With the help of a practitioner a tumor, an inward growing goiter which affected the heart, and excessive fat all disappeared in six weeks.
My attention was first attracted to Christian Science in 1910 by Christian Science literature sent to our home. From the beginning I enjoyed reading the testimonies in the Sentinel.
The first time I remember thinking much about Christian Science was after a lady spoke to me on an elevated train regarding the possibility of Christian Science healing my small son, who was unable to talk as he had what the doctors called paralysis of the throat. Some months after this, on my way to the city to a hospital for a second operation, I was led to go to the home of a friend who is a Christian Science practitioner.
When I was very small I heard the preachers say much about water baptism. My thought was kept busy searching for the truth, as I had a great desire to be a Christian as soon as I was old enough; but how was I to know when I was a Christian? This was in my thought a great deal of the time.
It was about fifteen years ago that I first became interested in Christian Science, out in India, through staying with a friend who was a Christian Scientist. I could not help seeing that she had something in her life which I had not, and I asked her if I might read some of her books and literature.
I should like to express my deep gratitude for all the good that has come to us through the application of Christian Science. I have been healed in one treatment of a very severe headache, which had lasted four days, and instantaneously of a fainting spell.
When Christian Science was introduced into our home, twenty-five years ago, I did not foresee the tremendous influence for good which it was to bring to me and to several members of my family. Since our whole-hearted acceptance of Christian Science it has indeed been a "pearl of great price.
