Testimonies of Healing

Christian Science came to me over sixteen years ago as a direct answer to prayer, after a period of four years' very earnest search to find the truth about God. While I had an unshaken faith in God, or in a supreme power of some kind, still for many years it had been impossible for me to accept the teachings of the so-called orthodox churches, and there were many questions I had pondered that were never satisfactorily answered.

Jesus said, "Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. " I am very grateful that this kingdom of Life, Truth, and Love and the understanding of Christian Science came to me twenty-six years ago, when to mortal sense my days were numbered.

I accepted Christian Science largely for the spiritual growth and uplifting which followed. There were also, however, healings of severe headache, colds, and nervous trouble.

Great gratitude prompts me to submit this testimony. Many years ago, when I knew nothing of Christian Science, I was so very ill with kidney and heart trouble that I no longer hoped to be healed.

With a grateful heart I wish to verify the testimony given by my husband, and to express my gratitude for the many blessings and healings that have come to us through the study and application of Christian Science. My first healing was of a chronic throat trouble which developed into tonsil poisoning.

Having received much help and encouragement from the testimonies appearing in our periodicals, and thinking of Jesus' loving admonition, "Freely ye have received, freely give," I am led to express my grateful appreciation for the many healings and blessings I have had in Christian Science during the past several years. I had been opposed and even antagonistic for some time to what I thought was Christian Science.

Words are inadequate to express my gratitude for Christian Science. On page 254 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," our revered Leader, Mrs.

I am truly grateful to God and to our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for Christian Science. I am grateful for the understanding our practitioners have of God, so that they may help those who seek the truth.

When Pilate asked Jesus if he were a king, the answer came, "To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. " As I pondered these words it was borne in upon me that I was not doing all I could to follow the example of Jesus by bearing witness to the truth which had been revealed to me through the blessed teachings of Christian Science.

My gratitude to God is boundless for the innumerable blessings, healings, and experiences of protection I have had, and am constantly receiving, through the study and application of Christian Science. With the help of a practitioner a tumor, an inward growing goiter which affected the heart, and excessive fat all disappeared in six weeks.
