Testimonies of Healing

I have recently had an added proof of the power and goodness of God, for which I am most grateful and which may be of benefit to others at this time. I was attacked with influenza and for four days experienced intense physical suffering.

In March, 1912, I was stricken with what three of the best doctors in the state pronounced an incurable heart malady. Everything seemed to have gone wrong with that organ, including a ruptured condition that rendered me incapable of any exertion and very little exercise, and with the extreme penalty always hanging over my head.

When my weary journey brought me to the straight and narrow way of Christian Science, I was a trustee of a denominational church, and the first attention given to the reading of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" was rather more with a sense of critical investigation of its merits than with any expectation of benefits therefrom. The teachings of my church had failed to heal the grief which had for many years oppressed me as the result of the passing away of a beloved sister.

I want to express my gratitude for Christian Science. It is a daily help to me in every problem and discord that appears and it is meeting every need with its healing message of love.

Now that I am again in full possession of my health, I am prompted to thank God from the bottom of my heart for my healing and for all the blessings of which I have been a recipient through Christian Science. Several years ago I stood at the brink of the grave, according to the doctor's verdict.

For about three years I had been suffering from attacks of rheumatism, accompanied by fever and followed by a complication of heart, stomach, and foot trouble (named fallen arches by specialists). Well-known physicians gave me little encouragement that I could be restored to health, but warned me that I would be liable to experience renewed and more severe attacks.

Some years ago, when I first became interested in Christian Science, I took my little boy to have treatment. From his birth he had been a most delicate child always under the doctor's care, and the doctors had little hope of his ever growing up; they told me that he had no digestive faculties.

"O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise. " It is with a grateful heart that I praise God for His wonderful works unto His children.

I have long felt a desire to express my gratitude for the blessings which Christian Science has brought into my life and that of my family. For fifteen years I suffered from heart trouble, had consulted many physicians, and been an inmate of different sanatoriums, but without experiencing healing.

After having typhoid fever about four years ago, I was left with what the doctors and nurses claimed was the formation of gallstones. As I was always fearing the operation which the doctors said was the only way of relief from this suffering I was on the lookout for some other curative system which would help me to regain my health.
