Testimonies of Healing

I wish to give public expression of gratitude for my healing in Christian Science. About two years ago I was suffering from a very serious illness, and the physician who attended me said that I must be removed to a hospital.

In April, 1906, I was in a critical condition both mentally and physically. 1 had been a great sufferer from rheumatic trouble, which had settled in my eyes, and I had become almost totally blind.

My boy, who is now eight years old, had an illness two years ago which was followed by ear trouble. He was operated upon; but as the fever was very high at times he was removed to a hospital in Cologne, and a more serious operation was performed.

It is with a deep feeling of gratitude, and a hope that this testimony may benefit some poor sufferer, that I now write. Five years ago I underwent a surgical operation for a growth in the breast, but without success, as it soon returned and was worse than before.

I am glad of the opportunity to testify to the healing power of Christian Science. In October, 1906, I was stricken down by a bad attack of rheumatic trouble, suffering intense pain and at night in particular.

This is to certify that Miss Mary E. Duvall had, at my hand, a live nerve extracted from a tooth, and other dental treatment of a painful character, without the slightest expression of suffering.

In gratitude to God, and to our Leader, Mrs. Eddy for the demonstrable understanding of the control which divine Love holds over all, I submit a recent experience in dentistry, involving a metaphysical point, in the hope that it may prove interesting and beneficial to any who are meeting this particular phase of fear.

In thinking over the events of the past three years, I find that we have indeed "freely received," and out of my bounteous cup of blessings I would now "freely give" this testimony of the healing of our little girl of a serious kidney trouble. After doctoring her for many months, our physician candidly told us that he could do no more.

I, too , wish to express my thankfulness for Christian Science, for the practice of its teachings has done for me in a very short time what materia medica in all its branches, including change of climate, could not accomplish in over thirty years. Up to my fourteenth year I was considered very strong and healthy, when all at once nervous troubles, accompanied by disorders of the stomach, etc.

About thirteen years ago I was suffering from a badly diseased limb, the condition having been seemingly brought about by a severe bruise. For two years after the accident the limb pained me a great deal, but there was no visible sign of a diseased condition till about the end of that period, when I found that the painful spot appeared to be decayed.
