Testimonies of Healing

SINCE I WAS FIVE YEARS OLD, Christian Science has been integral to my life. Through the study of the Bible and Science and Health, and application of their teachings, I've had many healings.

I AM LONG OVERDUE in giving thanks for many healings in my life. At the age of 18, I had a broken engagement and was devastated.

As a child, I had severe headaches from time to time. They would leave me incapacitated for hours.

One time during a business transaction, I met a young man who enjoyed a certain amount of fame in artistic circles. I'd already heard of him, but when I saw him in person, I became fascinated with him.

When I was growing up, I came down with tonsillitis about every other year. The family doctor would prescribe an antibiotic for me, and the tonsillitis would go away.

After 25 years of  marriage, I divorced, changed careers, sold the house, and moved to a large city, all within a few months. Thinking I was enjoying my freedom, I developed a lifestyle of immoral behaviour and self-indulgence to accompany an ongoing drinking habit.

Twelve years ago, when I was nineteen, I contracted a case of poison oak on my back. I'd come into contact with it while being intimate with a boyfriend.

When I was born in a North Dakota hospital, my parents were gently told to take me home with a nurse. Nothing could be done to save my life, and it would be kinder for my mother not to have to wait at the hospital.

My trust in God to heal every disease was reinforced recently. A noticeable lump had appeared on my back, lasting for a year, despite my somewhat desultory daily prayer about it.

When my husband and I decided to start our family, I turned to God in prayer. Before we were married, I was told I had a malformed uterus, which the doctor said would make getting pregnant extremely difficult, if not impossible.
