Testimonies of Healing
Through steadfast reliance on the Science of Christianity, I have seen again and again that God "is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think" ( Eph. 3:20 ).
When I was a young girl I attended a Christian Science Sunday School for five years. I had no desire to join the church, however, until years later when I found myself in deep waters.
I would like to take this opportunity to express my deep gratitude for Christian Science. I have had numerous healings— of illnesses; aback injury; school, teaching, and employment challenges; and many more.
One of my most cherished healings was of a nervous breakdown that occurred after my second child was born—forty years ago. It seemed to require many weeks of study, perseverance, trust, and adherence to God's guidance, as well as treatment from a dedicated Christian Science practitioner.
I am grateful to Christian Science for the many blessings our family has received over the years. A deeper sense of God's presence has done away with bickering between family members.
With growing gratitude I forward to you my first written testimony in nearly three decades of Christian Science study. Back ailments, headaches, stomach disorders, and relationships are among the numerous problems that have been healed in my study and application of this glorious truth, for which I am most thankful.
How important it was for me to learn about Christian Science! I am grateful to God, to Christ Jesus, and to the person who led me to find this religion. I was a firm believer in God at that time, and was going through great difficulties in connection with my health.
I wish to express my gratitude for the spiritual understanding and healings that have resulted from fifty years of studying the Science of Christianity. One of the most important lessons I've learned is that one must persist regardless of the roadblocks that appear to interfere with healing.
The spring of 1978 found my wife and me teaching English at a small engineering college in Iran. The only hint at that time of the approaching revolution in that country was that our students were becoming rather obstreperous in the classroom and antagonistic to the school administration.
Again and again in my study of Christian Science, and my earnest prayers, I affirm anew that chance cannot interfere with God's eternal dominion and, therefore, is not an element of my life. By consistently realizing this fact I have come to understand the way the Bible describes His presence.
