Testimonies of Healing

Once at my friend's house I was playing with a shawl and another friend was there. I was on my friend's bed.

Some of the most rewarding demonstrations of the practical application of Christian Science in my life have been business related. My career with the auto industry closed with my simultaneously managing two large manufacturing plants that employed over four thousand people.

I have had many instances of protection and healing and am grateful for having been brought up as a Christian Scientist. When I was a child I had an overbite.

" The word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword" ( Heb. 4:12 ).

I am so thankful for the confidence in God that the study of the Bible and Science and Health has brought to me. Truly He is an ever-present help! A year ago my daughter was due to be born.

After returning from military service in the Korean War, I was given a clean bill of health at my final physical examination before being discharged from the Army. Within a few weeks, I had to change a tire on my car on a little-used desert road.

Migraine headaches that had begun in my early teens continued to occur when I was a young adult. The headaches became more intense.

For me it was very difficult to find a path to God—to the full understanding of what He really is, and of man as His son. In my country there are several prominent religious denominations with very different interpretations of the Bible; however, they all see man as a mortal sinner.

Several months ago, as I was getting ready to attend a meeting in New York, I began to experience difficulty with my teeth and gums. One side of the cheek was swollen, and it was impossible for me to eat.

For a year after the passing of my husband, I had been daily praying for God's direction. I needed to learn how to listen quietly, as I wanted to let go of my overwhelming need to outline and direct my future and to heal my sense of loss.
