Testimonies of Healing
In 1929 I was confused as to where to send our three young children to church or Sunday School. My husband and I were of two opposite faiths.
I feel that it is my duty to write this testimony and express my thankfulness for the teachings of Christian Science. Many years ago my doctor told me that if I did not have a very critical operation there was little chance of my living a fortnight.
It is with much gratitude I give this testimony of what Christian Science means to me. I know there is no problem too great or too small to be worked out by the realization that man is perfect, made in the image of God.
A few years ago I had difficulty in hearing. Unless I sat well towards the front of the church I could hear little that was read from the desk.
These words are found in the Preface to Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy ( p.
It is with joy and gratitude that I give this testimony. Christian Science came to me at a time of great mental and physical distress.
" How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!" ( Isa. 52:7.
Christian Science was first brought to my attention some years ago at the time of a serious illness of a member of my family. I had been a member of an orthodox denomination and had been interested in things spiritual from an early age.
" Give thanks unto the Lord, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people" ( I Chron. 16:8 ).
Upon reading the testimonies in our periodicals, I often exclaim, "Thank God for this healing and its proof of what Christian Science has brought to the world!" My own life is full of serenity and contentment as the result of this study. It is with the hope that my experiences which follow may help someone else that I recount them with joy.
