I Have often thought, How can I best express my gratitude to our beloved Leader for the priceless gift of Christian Science? I now know I can best show her my appreciation of this great truth by the daily practice of its teachings.
I am young in Christian Science, having come to this well of pure water about two years ago, in search of health. I was absorbed in material beliefs and a pessimist of the worst sort, thinking there was little good, if any, in anybody or anything. I had chronic troubles, for which I had taken much medical treatment, and which physicians seemed unable to reach. My healing has been slow, for which I am truly grateful; otherwise, I should never have found the known God, the Christian Science God, the God of Love,—as I had quite decided before investigating Christian Science, that all I wanted of it was to get well. Through the slight understanding I have of this grand truth, I fully realize that all I need is the spiritual uplifting it gives to have perfect health. I have no wonderful testimony to give, but it is daily proved to my entire satisfaction, that if I draw night to God, He will draw nigh to me.
I am so deeply indebted to the editors, and also to the contributors to our periodicals, that I feel I must add my mite, for it seems at times, that I would fall by the wayside, were it not for the comforting and encouraging words they bring me. The "Do not be discouraged," I have read in so many testimonials, has greatly aided me on my way, and given me fresh impetus. I am also very thankful to my Christian Science friends for their loving and helpful suggestions.
