For what Christian Science has done and is doing in my family I wish to express my deep gratitude. Fourteen years ago I realized that drugs could not cure me of a chronic disorder of long standing, and was advised by a nurse to try Christian Science, as she said she knew of nothing in medicine that could help me permanently. I accordingly applied to a Christian Science practitioner and was healed in two weeks' treatment. Our little son, suffering from the same disorder, was then quickly healed, and has never taken medicine since. Eight years later I had a relapse, but with the help of a practitioner the healing was established, and I feel sure that it is permanent.
In Science and Health Mrs. Eddy says, "The prophylactic and therapeutic . . . arts belong emphatically to Christian Science" (p. 369), and we feel that our greatest demonstration has been our continued good health. We are especially grateful for the harmony manifest in our home, and for the wonderful help we have in the disciplining of our child. Growth in grace seems very slow, but I hope some time to be worthy of the name Christian Scientist.—Superior, Wis.
