Filled with deep gratitude, I wish to testify to a healing which came to me through the study and understanding of Christian Science.
I had suffered for eight years from a pulmonary disease, which manifested itself during the latter part of this time in the form of tuberculosis. As a result of the terrible suffering I endured, caused especially by a chronic cough with all its accompanying conditions, I was in a state from which, according to medical opinion, there was no hope of recovery. Although I had been an inmate of a sanitarium four times, and had, after three months, been discharged each time as better, I was forced to admit that in a short time the disease had broken out again, taking on even worse forms than before. My condition was seemingly hopeless, and I had lost all confidence in medicine.
In August, 1923, I became acquainted with some very kind people. Divine Love sent to our home a family one member of which was a Christian Science practitioner, and I told her about my illness. She very kindly explained to me the omnipotence of God, and helped me daily with treatments and in the study of our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I felt deep satisfaction in this wonderful truth, and was filled with faith and hope because "with God all things are possible." When the practitioner was obliged to leave here, I asked her to continue treatment, and she promised that she would continue to help me.
