Christian Science has brought innumerable blessings to me, among them class instruction and the annual association meeting of students; membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church; teaching in the Sunday school, daily opportunities to help others to a better understanding of divine Science; and the privilege of caring for a home and rearing a family under the guidance of this Science with the family's coöperation.
I wish, however, in this testimony particularly to express my gratitude for the Christian Science Sunday School. I was a young child in the third or fourth grade in school when I first heard the truth in this Sunday school. At that time I was extremely nervous, occasionally having to be excused early from school to return home in tears, and often lying sleepless till early morning. On one such occasion I slipped quietly out of bed, and looking out upon the moonlit night, asked—I did not know whom or what—that I might know what life was all about and what was the reason for everything. As I see it now, that was a child's prayer, and it was soon to be answered.
Shortly after this my mother, who for years had hesitated to look into Christian Science, called upon a practitioner for help in an hour of extremity. The result of this visit was evidenced in my enrollment in the Christian Science Sunday School, although the study of Christian Science was not then taken up in the home. I shall never forget the joy of hearing the truth about God and His children!
