Out of deep gratitude and a feeling of duty I give this testimony regarding the omnipotent, omnipresent healing power of God, divine Love, as it is revealed to us in Christian Science.
From the time I was twelve I had suffered from severe backache and nosebleed, so that I had to have medical aid. But I found only temporary relief. So it went on up to the time I was twenty-one years old, when I was attacked by various other illnesses and had to give up my work. I suffered from sleeplessness, headaches, and stomach and kidney disorders. The doctor stated that I had weak nerves and fallen stomach. For some time I had to stay in bed and submit to medical attention. Thus another three months went by; but no healing came, and I lost all interest in life.
One day I heard of Christian Science, and immediately I went to a practitioner, who in a very friendly and loving manner explained to me the truth about God and man. After the first treatment many troubles disappeared. However, one difficulty seemed to be quite deep-seated and yielded rather slowly. But after about a year I was freed from all the illnesses. Through reading the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, it became clear to me that God is man's life, and therefore man is not dependent on nerves and blood.
