It is with deep gratitude to God for blessings received through Christian Science that I write this testimony. In the fall of 1929 I became very ill with a condition which the doctors called nervous depression. I had had previous attacks of this illness since early manhood. I became so discouraged when materia medica failed to help me, and I had such a strong desire to pass on, that after I attempted to end my life, I was placed in a hospital for treatment of nervous diseases. I remained there for a year under the same depressed condition. That is where Christian Science came to my relief.
Late one afternoon I was visited by a friend who was interested in this Science. During the visit I was led to ask for help from a Christian Science practitioner, which was lovingly given. Words are inadequate to express the joy that was mine the next morning when the light of Truth dawned on my consciousness and I realized that I was God's child instead of a sick mortal. I was almost instantly healed. In a short time I was examined by the doctors of the hospital and released.
During the time of this healing I lost all desire for tobacco, of which habit I had been a victim for years.
