I first took notice of Christian Science twenty-six years ago, when I came in contact with a very dear friend of long standing whom I had not seen for five or six years. When I asked her what had wrought such a change in her life, evidenced in happiness and health, she said it was Christian Science, and that if I would read Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, with earnest study of the Bible and the Christian Science Quarterly Bible Lessons, all my troubles would leave me. I can truthfully say that I found this to be the case.
When I read the first chapter in Science and Health, on Prayer, and the book, "Miscellaneous Writings" by Mrs. Eddy, I was convinced I had found the truth, that nothing could change my thought, and that I should not leave a stone unturned until I gained an understanding of these books. From that time to this I have never doubted or faltered or felt like turning back. I have never taken another dose of medicine or employed a physician. My every need has been met through faithful study and application of Christian Science
I have been healed of self-pity, which is just as much of a disease as other discordant conditions. I have also been healed of sick headaches. One of my first healings was of liver trouble, which a prominent physician had told me could not be reached by medicine. A few months later I was healed of catarrh of the head of over twenty-five years' standing. I had been told by a specialist that I could never hope to be healed of it. I hope this will give courage to anyone suffering from this belief. I have been healed of a sprained ankle and influenza, and have proved God's protection in times of accident, also the allness of Mind in locating lost articles.
