On page 265 of "Miscellaneous Writings," our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, says, "Whosoever understands a single rule in Science, and demonstrates its Principle according to rule, is master of the situation." Many times, when going through what to the material senses have seemed to be very deep waters, the contemplation of this statement has been a veritable life preserver to me. Christian Science has given me what I was earnestly seeking at the time I began its study, namely, rules adequate to meet all the needs of daily, hourly living.
One of my first healings was of chronic constipation, with which I had been troubled since childhood. It was overcome instantaneously over sixteen years ago, and the healing has been permanent. I have been healed of constant colds and headaches. This freedom came after a hard substance, the size and shape of a cone of incense, had passed from my nostril in a natural way. I never knew just when I was cured of nervous indigestion, from which I had suffered for many years.
I have witnessed the instantaneous healing of fallen arches, the setting of broken arm bones in the space of two hours, and the setting of a broken hip joint in a few hours through Christian Science treatment. When the suggestion of dishonesty presented itself, I denied it and have seen missing articles returned.
