For many years I have experienced blessings through the study of Christian Science.
In the year 1887, while I was residing in San Diego, a friend lent us a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. My mother, who was an invalid, was healed while reading the book. She had consulted many physicians, and as a last resort had undergone an operation for an incurable disease, so called; but she failed to receive even temporary relief until Christian Science came with its healing message.
My own healing occurred about 1904, and my testimony appeared in the Christian Science Sentinel in 1905. This healing has been permanent, and I owe a deep debt of gratitude to the practitioner who was so patient with me. Since then, various difficulties have arisen, such as poisoning, broken bones, and contagious diseases, but through the understanding of Christian Science they have all been overcome. I have not been confined to the house or bed for many years.
