ACKNOWLEDGMENT to God and testimony before men of benefits received through Christian Science treatment always bless. I gratefully offer this testimony of my first healing in Christian Science.
A painful growth had manifested itself on the bottom of my foot, and I had made arrangements with a physician for an operation, when one of my friends urged me first to try Christian Science. More in the spirit of courtesy toward my friend than with any expectation of healing through this Science—for I knew nothing of its teachings—I consented to see a practitioner. I was directed to one of Mrs. Eddy's loyal students. After talking to me for a few minutes, during which I caught my first glimpse of man's true relationship to God, she gave me a treatment.
For some time I had been unable to walk except by turning my foot on the side, which was most awkward and difficult, but on leaving the practitioner, I found I could walk normally and without pain, and the following day I played a vigorous game of tennis with no thought of discomfort. I had been completely healed in one treatment. I was also deeply interested in this Science, as well, and the practitioner talked with me every day for a week, with the result that I was spiritually awakened, and have been an active Christian Scientist for many years.
